The United States Marshals Service (USMS) was granted the authority via a class deviation memo for use of personal service contracts on 5 November 2004 from the Department of Justice, The Assistant Attorney General for Administration. The ninety-four (94)D istricts and Justice Prisoner Alien Transportation Systems (JPATS) recruit potential personal service employees through this an open posting on sams.gov (in lieu of previous bulletin board postings. The open recruitment runs the duration of the contract period of performance and recruitement is for INDIVIDUALS who meet the qualifications of the statement of work (SOW).
