HMEE IV FOLLOW-ON EFFORT
The U.S. Army is seeking information to assess the availability of sources to meet the Government�s requirement for the High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE). The HMEE Type IV capability, outlined within AUTOMOTIVE TANK PURCHASE DESCRIPTION-2301A, is a pneumatic tired, diesel-engine driven, all-wheel drive tractor with attachments, for excavation of small emplacements, material handling, and general construction tasks; with tactical mobility over rough terrain and high mobility on roadways. The basic tractor, is classified as a self-propelled construction vehicle, meeting federal highway safety standards as well as emission standards for Non-Road Engines. Emissions standards follow exemption Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Section 89.908(a)1. The Type I tractor is equipped with a front loader attachment; a rear mounted backhoe; portable tools; and when specified, provisions for an Army radio set.
